Semperviva
The Semperviva ensemble combines a historically informed interpretation of the Italian Renaissance with the reading of texts from the era. The sounds are accompanied by the thoughts, ideas and living conditions of this exciting and fascinating time - one interpreted authentically, the other in a new translation. In this way, Semperviva provides unique insights into the sound and life of the Renaissance.
The music illuminates the place, time and social context of the texts. Popular spiritual lauds, complicated ornamentation from the Codex Faenza, rhythmically complicated love poems and simple folk melodies complement the picture painted by the texts. The choice of music takes into account the exact place and time of the texts' creation, so that one can be sure that the author knew exactly this music. This close connection is new and unique!
